Oman is a beautiful country with a picturesque landscape featuring wadis, mountains and an azure ocean that attracts tourists and expatriates to its shores from all corners. Under the benign leadership of the ruler of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the country continues to prosper and realise its true potential.
Beginning with a few members who settled in Muscat in 1967, the Dawoodi Bohra community has steadily grown from strength to strength. Nearly 350 close-knit families with approximately 1,000 members call Oman home today. Although relatively small in number, the community which consists of both business people and professionals, actively contributes to the development of Oman. This humble contribution comes in the form of providing employment and running businesses across a variety of sectors, namely: construction, IT, hardware, textiles, health, education and oil & gas.
The Omani leadership advocates education of the highest quality for all those who reside within the country. The Bohra community shares the administration’s passion for education and strives to achieve high standards of education and training for every individual within the community. A range of opportunities are also provided for students who wish to pursue higher education in various fields. The head of the community, Sultan-al-Bohra, Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, has visited this beautiful country in 2017.
Inspired by his guidance, the community continues to develop long-lasting relationships with the sultanate and the people of Oman. The Dawoodi Bohras of Oman are involved in a range of social and cultural initiatives, and are continuously exploring ways to give back to society.
